Sermon "When it Flows"

"We've got Spirit! How about you?"

On this Pentecost Sunday, Rev. Ron McDougald delivers a powerful and joyful message about the Holy Spirit that moved the early church from sadness to joy, from survival to revival, and from hiding in an upper room to boldly proclaiming Jesus to the world. Drawing from Acts 2:1-21 and John 7:37-39, Pastor Ron reminds us that the same Spirit that fell like wind and fire at Pentecost is still present, empowering, and flowing through believers today.

Sermon Highlights:

  • The Presence of Jesus — The Holy Spirit means Jesus is with us forever. Just as the Festival of Booths reminded Israel of God’s presence in the wilderness, the Holy Spirit reminds us that God is always with His people.
  • The Power of the Indwelling Spirit — When the Holy Spirit fills us, we become the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. The same God who worked through the earthly Jesus now works through you and me.
  • Unity in the Church — The Spirit doesn’t divide — it unites. When believers gather in one place with one purpose, the Holy Spirit falls on the whole community
  • Going Public — The Good News isn’t meant to stay inside the church walls. The Spirit empowers us to share Christ’s love boldly with a hurting world.
  • Courage for the Unexpected — A touching story of “Miss Ethel,” who followed the Holy Spirit’s nudge into prison ministry for over 43 years — visiting twice a week and leading many to Christ.

This message will stir your faith, lift your spirit, and challenge you to say with confidence: “We got Spirit! Yes we do!”
